Soldering and Workmanship Standards
As a key supplier to both military and commercial markets, K&L Microwave applies soldering and workmanship practices that conform to customer and military standards, American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards, and IPC (formerly Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits) standards, including IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610.
On-site Environmental Test Lab
K&L’s full in-house environmental testing facility includes vibration tables, accelerated shock apparatus, temperature and thermal shock chambers, temperature/altitude chambers, and a condensing/non-condensing, salt-fog humidity chamber. This equipment is capable of recording real-time test cycling data. Environmentally-controlled, computer-operated laser-welding equipment ensures clean, void-free welds, maintaining hermeticity requirements of 10-8 atm-cc/sec.
On-site Calibration Lab
K&L’s on-site calibration laboratory conforms to the requirements of MIL-STD 45662, ANSI Z-540, and ISO 10012. Calibration activities are scheduled and managed via use of Met-Cal software. Calibration standards are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). K&L’s calibration lab frequently receives accolades from our ISO registrar and other external auditors.
